"Stories with Mr. Stormy is a "no-additional-charge" 30 minute children's story time session held at 10:30 AM usually - but not always - on the first Saturday of each month. It is hosted by Al "Stormy" West, who tokk his nickname from the railroad engineer who is credited, along with his wife, of having developed the now famous railroad cap. Al will tell a child appropriate transportation related story of his own creation focused around a "show-and-tell' item, to help keep the kid's maintain their attention.

After the story, Al will take the children on a guided train ride, showing them how railroads work along the way. The train ride, along with the story session itself, is included in admission. In other words, there is no additional fee for the experience. Please enter the museum through the depot. After paying regular admission - $8 per adult, $6 per child under 12, or our 'family special' rate of only $24 which admits 2 adults and up to 5 children under the age of 12 - so you can bring your kid's best friend virtually for free! - you will be directed to the story area. Bringing a blanket to sit on might be a good idea.
