ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. Peter Flaig is a Research Scientist and Sedimentologist-Stratigrapher at the Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas at Austin. His job includes examining deposits such as those that surround dinosaur bones, as well as the plants and other animals found alongside them. His goal is to help other scientists reconstruct ancient, deep-time environments.
Dr. Flaig was fortunate enough to be a part of a separate research team based in the same remote Beardmore Field Camp as the team that found the specimens for Antarctic Dinosaurs! He will discuss everyday camp life in Antarctica and Arctic Alaska, and the science that these camps support.
