The Great (little) Train Robbery of 1970 - San Antonio Zoo
*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 07/18/2020
Join us on Saturday, July 18th, as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of The Great (little) Train Robbery. Each Zoo Eagle train ride on Saturday, July 18th, will host re-enactments of the event that took place 50 years ago to the day.
Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.
Fifty years ago, passengers on board the Brackenridge Eagle winded through the park and into infamy when the miniature train was robbed by armed gunmen.
Train robbery re-enactments will act as a fundraiser to purchase much-needed, new miniature trains. Each trip around the park will feature zoo actor educators in costume, holding up the Zoo Eagle Train passengers with bubble guns asking them for their donations. While on the train ride, an audio recording will play overhead detailing the events that unfolded 50 years ago.
Tickets to this unique Zoo Eagle Train ride is $10 per person, per timed ticket.
