About the Camp
Software: You cannot see, hear, or touch it, but it is the driving force behind any electronic device you use, from smartphones and computer games to televisions and cars. Without software, none of these electronic devices would be useful.
St. Mary’s offers a five-day camp that will teach middle and high schoolers the basics behind the development of computer software. Campers will also have the opportunity to explore two major areas of software: computer games and cybersecurity.
They will learn about:
- Computers and codes through hands-on activities
- The C programming language with paired programming
- Game development by creating computer games
- Cybersecurity with C# on personal computers
The five-day summer camp will be held from June 27 to July 1, 2016, from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. The camp is exclusively for students in eighth, ninth and 10th grade. The fee is $300 per participant, which will include lunch every day.
The deadline for applications is June 6, 2016.
